Patrick Mahomes' Girlfriend Sticks it to Patriots Fans After She Was Harassed During the Game
While Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes was down on the field Sunday afternoon battling it out with the New England Patriots, his girlfriend was involved in her own fight with fans ... but she ended up with the last laugh.
23-year-old Brittany Matthews was tweeting about her experience while attending the game at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA and it was clear from the moment she sat down it was going to be difficult with the Pats fans.
"As soon as we sit down, drunk dude “hey everyone this is patrick mahomes girl and brother, let’s give them shit”This shall be fun," she tweeted.
Matthews was seen attending the game with Patrick Mahomes' brother, Jackson, and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce's girlfriend, Kayla Nicole.
After Mahomes and the Chiefs pulled out to a big lead in the second quarter, Matthews revealed that the Patriots fans began getting even more aggressive and yelling at her to sit down whenever she stood to cheer. She said the treatment was "horrible."
"This place is horrible, people already yelling every time I stand up, am I not aloud to stand up for football game?"
They allegedly even threatened to call security on her as Tom Brady and the Patriots continued to take a beating from Kansas City. Some fans saw that Matthews was in distress and offered to have her join their group while watching the game.
"Come to section 121! We have empty seats behind us! And we stand the entire game!" one fan offered.
Security Steps In
Luckily, security must have seen Matthews' tweets and stepped in to offer some assistance.
"Gillette security came and got us and moved us to a safe place 🙌🏼 that’s how you know it was bad," she wrote on Twitter.
"Terrible behavior from such an 'elite' franchise and fan base," one user responded on social media. "Glad they moved you somewhere safe but it’s ridiculous that people are allowed to act that way, they should be kicked out," another suggested.
One fan quipped, "Patriots fans are like school on Saturday.... no class."
Victory!
The Chiefs ended up routing the Patriots 23 - 16, and Matthews couldn't have been happier for Mahomes and the boys. She even posted a photo kissing the QB in the hallowed halls of Gillette Stadium ... a double slap in the face to Tom Brady & Co.
On Monday morning she tweeted, "It’s victory Monday and It might be the best one yet." She received lots of praise from Chiefs fans ... and some disdain from Patriots Nation.
She even took a not-so-subtle jab at Tom Brady and his collection of Super Bowl rings.
"All patriots fans “we still have 6 Super Bowls” Lololol Once patrick has been in the league as long as Brady, then chat to me about Super Bowls! Patrick is 24, brady is 42🤔 you just wait👏🏼"
Patrick's brother, Jackson, retweeted Matthews' message and added, "Everyone is caught up in the PAST, it’s a new era/decade."
