Patrick Mahomes is always happy to suit up for Chiefs Kingdom, but the superstar quarterback admitted that the team's game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day will be bittersweet.

Speaking to Pro Football Talk, Mahomes, 28, said he's "excited" to play the "standalone" game, which kicks off at 1 p.m. ET on Monday, because it will air as families are spending quality time together during the holiday.

"I mean, everybody’s gonna be just opening presents and getting the food in them, and then they’re going to be the happiest they possibly can be, and they’re gonna turn on and see the Kansas City Chiefs playing," Mahomes told the outlet.

"So I’m excited about that," Mahomes said, before admitting that he is a "little disappointed" that he won't get to have that same experience with his own children, Sterling Skye and Patrick "Bronze" Lavon, and wife Brittany Mahomes on Christmas Day.

“I’m a little disappointed I’m going to miss Christmas Eve with my kids and Christmas morning and miss Santa coming," Mahomes shared, as he and the team will spend the night before the game at a hotel.

The father-of-two said he'll celebrate the holiday and open presents with his kids and Brittany after the game on Christmas Day.

"I’ll be able to spend the evening with them and open presents with them then," Mahomes shared. "So, it’ll be a great opportunity. I’m excited for that. We’ll miss the kids a little bit but we’ll celebrate after the game’s over.”

Brittany, 28, will likely be in attendance when the Chiefs and Raiders kick off on Christmas Day, as the KC Current owner comes to every game at Arrowhead Stadium.

Since Chiefs' tight end and Patrick's close friend, Travis Kelce, started dating Taylor Swift, Brittany has been spotted watching games with the "Karma" singer.

On Sunday, Brittany and Swift sat together in a suite at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts for the Chiefs matchup against the New England Patriots. They were also joined by the pop star’s dad, Scott Swift as well as fellow singer, Alana Haim.

During the game, Brittany shared a snap to her Instagram Stories of a cookie decorated with "Dads, Brads and Chads."

The reference on the sweet treat was a nod to a comment Swift made during her Time Person of the Year cover story in which she defended the amount of coverage her attendance at Kelce’s games receives. The “Style” singer told the outlet she goes to games solely to “support Travis,” has “no awareness” of how often she’s shown on TV, adding she doesn’t care about “pissing off a few dads, Brads and Chads.”
