Pat Sajak gave the wheel one final spin this week. After hosting Wheel of Fortune for 43 years, Sajak taped his final episode on Friday, April 5. The episode will air in June and serve as the Season 41 finale.

The iconic host announced in June 2023 that he was stepping down from his Emmy-winning role at the end of the then-upcoming Season 41.

“Well, the time has come,” Sajak tweeted at the time. “I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all."

Sajak, who has hosted Wheel of Fortune since 1981, has been nominated for 19 Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Game Show Host, winning three of them.

Ryan Seacrest will take over from Sajak when Wheel of Fortune returns this fall. After a contentious contract negotiation, Vanna White will also return as the show's iconic letter-turner—or activator, to use game show parlance.
