Pastor, 2 Sons Die ‘Holding Onto’ Each Other After He Saves Wife, Other Kids in House Fire

"His wife and 6 other kids are now without anything," wrote Haley McGuire, Robinette's cousin in a statement on Facebook

Six children are mourning the death of their father — a pastor — and two of their siblings after a horrific house fire in Ohio this week.

According to a press release from the Ohio Department of Commerce, fire officials were called to a fire at an Orient, Ohio residence at approximately 12:22 a.m. on Tuesday. The release confirmed that there were "three confirmed male fatalities aged 55, 17 and 10."

Pastor Mark Robinette managed to get six of his eight children out through a window and saved his wife, Andrea, his cousin, Haley McGuire, wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.

After realizing that two of his sons, Gideon, 17, and Liam, 10, were not out of the home, he returned inside, and the three never made it out, McGuire wrote, adding that he "was found holding onto them both."

"His wife and six other kids are now without anything. They lost it all in the fire, including phones," her post continued. The family is now staying in a hotel, according to WBNS-TV.

While the Ohio Department of Commerce stated that there was no indication of foul play, the incident remains under investigation by the Division of State Fire Marshal's Fire and Explosion Investigation Bureau, Pickaway County Sheriff's Office, and Coroner's Office.

"I just came up here to be with the family. They've lost everything. There are a lot of needs. They don't even have shoes… They're going to need some help, but they need our prayers and anything we can do for them," Mike Comer, another cousin of Robinette, told WLBT in a story published on Wednesday.

"Mark was just so much to so many people, his foundation and his mission work. He was going and building churches in Myanmar," Comer added.

Robinette founded the Foundation Church in 2000 in Mt. Sterling. According to the church's website, he worked as a day pastor and had been in ministry for over 20 years.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to assist Robinette's family. "Their house and all of their belongings were completely destroyed, and it is the dead of winter. They are left with the night clothes they were wearing and their vehicle and that is all," a message on the page reads.
