The “Party Down” revival has been ordered to series at Starz, with six out of the shows seven original stars coming back for the six-episode installment.

Lizzy Caplan is unable to return due to scheduling conflicts, but cast members Adam Scott (who is also an executive producer), Ken Marino, Jane Lynch, Martin Starr, Ryan Hansen and Megan Mullally will all reprise their original roles in the long-awaited new season of the comedy.

Along with Scott, the revival’s executive producers include fellow “Party Down” alumni Rob Thomas, John Enbom, Paul Rudd and Dan Etheridge. Enbom will also serve as showrunner on the revival, which is expected to go into production next year.

“After more than 10 years, we’re excited to have the cast, many of whom are now hugely popular award-winning stars, return to don their pink bowties and head back to the party,” Jeffrey Hirsch, president and CEO of Starz, said. “The fan demand for a ‘Party Down’ revival is clear and we look forward to what Rob, Paul, John, Dan and now Adam will do as they bring this special project and these hilarious characters back to life.”

“Party Down” follows a Los Angeles catering team – a sextet of Hollywood wannabes stuck working for tips while hoping for their “big break.” Each episode of this half-hour comedy finds the hapless catering team working a new event – and inevitably getting tangled up with the colorful guests and their absurd lives.

The show originally ran for two seasons on Starz from 2009-2010. “Party Down” was canceled due to low ratings and Lynch’s casting on “Glee” and Scott’s move to “Parks and Recreation.” However, its cult-hit status has only increased in the more than 10 years since its cancellation, as new people discovered “Party Down” via streaming, worth-of-mouth recommendations from longtime fans, and the many GIFs and memes the show has inspired on social media.
