Part concert, part circus act, Pink flies back to Louisville in 'Trustfall Tour'

A sold-out crowd was more than ready to "Raise a Glass" to pop icon Pink, who literally flew onto stage Saturday night at the KFC Yum! Center.

It's been five years since the artist known for "So What," "What About Us" and "Just Give Me A Reason" — among a dozen-plus pop smashes — has performed in Louisville.

Saturday, the Grammy Award winner's Kentucky concert, which is part of her multi-city "Trustfall Tour," included her greatest hits along with new music from her ninth studio album "Trustfall," which was released in February.

The 44-year-old artist said "Trustfall" is the album she's most proud of in her career. It features songs with The Lumineers, First Aid Kit, and Kentucky native Chris Stapleton.

And that's just the music. If you've been to a Pink concert, you know it's so much more. Over the past 15 years, Pink has mastered live performances to the extent that her tours are considered some of the best in the world.

In its 2018 "Beautiful People" issue, People called Pink, "a performer, mother and role model whose honesty, humor, confidence and sheer star power make her one of the most beloved and fascinating entertainers on the planet."

With a battalion of dancers, backup singers, musicians, pyrotechnics, neon, sequins, and confetti a Pink concert is a masterful high-energy, high-flying pop spectacular.

At her concert Saturday, the seemingly fearless mother of two, dive-bombed from the rafters of the arena harnessed to bungee cords while belting out "Get the Party Started." That party included acrobatics galore, pyrotechnics, trampolines, and to the delight of the audience — lots more flying which included spins, flips, and dangling from her ankles as she performed her vast catalog of music.

Because her Louisville concert took place on Veterans Day, Pink sang "When I Get There," dedicated to her father, who she told the audience was a U.S. veteran.

A sweet moment during Saturday's show featured Willow Hart, the singer's 12-year-old daughter, who rocked the audience singing "Cover Me in Sunshine" while her proud mama stood by her side.

Pink gave Louisville everything they came for Saturday. Her very best music wrapped around breathtaking stunts, a dazzling stage, moments of genuine interaction with her fans, and an unforgettable evening of entertainment. Let's just hope she doesn't wait for another five years to fly back into town.
