People mourn, and celebrate life in their own ways. When someone you love passes away, and the big days with them when they were alive pop up, people have their own ways of dealing with that day. Some like to celebrate quietly with those they love, some post about everything about the person on social media, and so on. Everyone is different in handling this, and that’s okay. But what’s not okay is sending hate to someone, and Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris Jackson isn’t mincing words about this while clapping back at trolls.

On Aug 29, the wilted singer shared a video to her Instagram with the caption reading, “full video 🙂 please don’t use a man you have never met as an excuse to abuse, manipulate, and harass his daughter (who you also have never met). L O V E ♥️.”

Paris started the video by saying, “So today is my dad’s birthday, and back when he was alive, he used to hate when people acknowledged his birthday, wished him a happy birthday, celebrating it, nothing like that,” and then detailed how when he was alive, he didn’t tell his kids his birthday because he didn’t want them throwing a party for him.

“That being said, social media is apparently how people show their love and affection these days, and if you don’t wish someone a happy birthday via social media, it apparently means you don’t love them,” she said. “There have been times when I don’t post anything for my dad’s birthday, and people lose their f*****g minds. They tell me to kill myself and they’re basically measuring my love for my own father based off of what I post on Instagram.”

Before she transitioned to a video of her on stage, she said, “So I made you guys a little video, and I hope you enjoy it.”

We then see her on stage, saying, “Today would have been my dad’s birthday, and he would have been 65 years old today. He put 50 years of blood, sweat, tears, love, and passion into doing what he did so that I could stand up here on stage in front of you and scream into a microphone. I owe everything to him,” and she talked about her bandmates being her second family.

We then cut back to her in the first setting, suggesting positive ways for people to honor her father. “Now if you are an MF superfan and you wanna do something that he would’ve loved, which is not celebrate his birthday,” she started saying, “My suggestion would be to [get involved] with ways to raise awareness for climate change, doing stuff for the environment, animal rights activism. These were things he loved and was very, very interested in.”

Not only did she talk about how love is not measured by the amount of social media posts, but she did honor him in a way she knew he would’ve wanted and even gave suggestions on how fans can honor him. Both sassy and classy, and proves how awesome Paris does when handling the trolls of the internet.

Michael Jackson’s birthday was on Aug 29, and in his lifetime, he welcomed three children in his lifetime: Michael Joseph Jr. (mainly known as “Prince”), born Feb 13, 1997, Paris-Michael Katherine, born April 3, 1998, and Prince Michael II (mainly known as “Bigi”), born Feb 21, 2002.

In an episode of Unfiltered, the three of them also said they consider Omer Bhatti to be their oldest brother. Bhatti’s mother was hired as their nanny when they were very young, and he’s been around the Jackson family since he was a baby, quickly becoming the eldest sibling.
