Chris Zylka is reflecting on his whirlwind romance with Paris Hilton and the factors that led to their broken engagement.

During a recent appearance on the Ned’s Declassified Podcast Survival Guide podcast, The Leftovers alum, 38, opened up about his ex-fiancée and the regrets he has about the way their relationship went down.

Zylka dispelled any “misconceptions” about the hotel heiress, 42, and called her a “wonderful human being,” before revealing that the former couple decided to go their separate ways after she allegedly asked him to give up performing.

Due to Hilton’s previous experiences in her personal life, The Amazing Spiderman star shared that “acting wasn’t a choice for me during that time.” While he “completely understood” the reasons behind the Simple Life alum’s request, his love for the craft was “the one thing I couldn’t live without.”

During their two-year relationship, Zylka revealed that he “didn’t work” despite being at the “peak” of his career and going into the series finale of The Leftovers. He explained that he didn’t have any “regrets” about choosing “her over work,” but ultimately realized how “important” his acting career was to him.

“I've never been able to apologize to her for … not being grateful for the experience and like, all that she did for me,” he confessed. “She's the one relationship that I've ever had that there was no take — it was all give … and it was really lovely.”

“I cannot tell you one bad thing about Paris, like that was all me,” he continued, noting how watching Hilton’s “booming” career and her growing family “just warms my heart more than anything.”
