Paris Hilton Shares Tearful Tribute to Grandpa Barron Following His Death

Paris Hilton is mourning the loss of her family's patriarch, Barron Hilton.

Her billionaire grandfather, known for taking over the Hilton hotel chain from his father, Conrad, died of natural causes on Thursday evening at the age of 91.

Barron was Paris' dad Rick Hilton's father.

Saying goodbye to her grandfather in a tearful tribute, the hotel heiress wrote a touching message about their relationship.

Posting a slide show displaying photos throughout Barron's life, she stated, "I am deeply saddened by the loss of my grandfather Barron Hilton."

Continuing, Paris added, "he was a Legend, a visionary, brilliant, handsome, kind and lived a life full of accomplishment and adventure."

The DJ told fans that he was "an incredible mentor," who she "looked up to as a businessman."

"I always wanted to make him proud," she wrote.

Paris also stated they talked just a few days ago and she told him what an impact he made on her life.

"His spirit, heart and legacy will live on in me," she said.

Paris shared another montage dedicated to Barron, but in this one the focus was on his life with his late-wife Marilyn June Hawley, who died in 2004.

"So sad to have lost my grandfather but it makes me happy to know that he is in Heaven now with his soulmate," the hotel heiress spoke of her grandparents.

She also revealed she had always been inspired by their love story.

"They were one of those rare couples that were meant to be. Their love, loyalty, dedication and life together has always been such an inspiration to me," Paris stated.

Ending her message, she wrote, "I miss them both so much and will always be grateful to have witnessed such a pure true love. Love you Nanu and Papa forever."
