The Screen Actors Guild Award-winning actor was found dead in a car amid a drug investigation.

South Korean actor Lee Sun-kyun — who won a Screen Actors Guild Award for his role in Bong Joon Ho's Best Picture-winning 2019 drama Parasite — has died at age 48.

According to the Associated Press, the popular TV and film actor was found dead inside a car in Seoul on Wednesday, amid local authorities' extensive probe into his reported drug usage.

The actor was initially reported missing by his family, including his actress wife Jeon Hye-jin — during an ongoing police investigation that accused him of using illegal substances. According to the outlet, the actor maintained his innocence throughout the ordeal, and even filed legal action claiming that he was blackmailed and tricked into taking the drugs.

EW has reached out to a representative for the late actor for more information.

The actor is survived by his aforementioned wife and two sons.
