Paramore Drops Latin America Festival Appearances, But ‘Will See You in the Next Era’
Paramore’s unforeseen circumstances are becoming a little more foreseen. On Thursday, the band announced that they would no longer be performing at a string of festivals in Latin America. The band remains in a state of reconfiguration following the end of their 20-year recording contract with Atlantic Records, sharing via Instagram Stories that they “will see you in the next era.”
Kings of Leon will perform in Paramore’s place at Vive Latino in Mexico City, Festival Estéreo Picnic in Bogotá, and Lollapalooza Brazil in São Paulo. “Paramore thanks them and apologizes for any inconvenience,” Paramore’s social media statement reads. This marks their latest cancellation, having earlier this month pulled out of iHeartRadio’s ALTer EGO festival where Fall Out Boy performed in their place.

At the end of 2023, around the time that their recording contract expired, Paramore’s social media accounts were completely wiped and their website led only to a white screen showing a 404 error message. Their only Instagram post at the moment is a teaser trailer for A24 Music’s forthcoming Talking Heads tribute album, on which they will be covering “Burning Down the House.”
The promise of a “next era” is one of the first pieces of reassurance Paramore fans have received amid the band’s transitional period. But before any social accounts were cleared, or any live performances cancelled, the trio expressed excitement about getting back in the studio.
“I was talking to Zac and Taylor about this recently. Sometime in the middle of this tour, we all started getting really excited about making new music again. We’re just ready to be back in the studio,” Hayley Williams told Rolling Stone in October. “And we still have plenty of shows — we’re going to do the Eras tour next summer, we have the New Zealand/Australia run, there’s a couple of dates happening early next year. But there’s something that we all are metabolizing finally, about the last few years of the band, but also existing.”
