Pamela Anderson is sharing the secrets behind her beauty routine.

In her weekly journal, the author and activist, 56, says she’s gone "back to basics" when it comes to her regimen.

Titling this week’s entry "A Gentle Regime" Anderson starts by telling recipients, "My beauty 'routine' is pretty simple these days."

Anderson explains that she has no interest in "hovering over the sink with multiple steps" and has "weeded out" products, including anything "too complicated."

Of the items she uses, she has a strategy: "I plant things where I'll see them and [apply them] … A rose hydration spray in the fridge that I use every time I open it … A lip balm in my bag that I apply all day long especially in the winter …"

She’s also got "homemade" formulas, such as a rose hip facial oil that “sits on my vanity for before make up or just 'as my makeup' these days,” she says.

In January, Anderson spoke to Dax Shepard and Monica Padman on their Armchair Expert podcast about the narrative told to her about wearing makeup.

In an interview with Elle, weeks before Anderson lit up Paris Fashion Week with her bare-faced glow, the Love, Pamela author called going makeup-free "freeing, and fun, and a little rebellious too."

"This is the chapter of my life I’m trying to embrace now," Anderson later said in a TikTok video, adding that adhering to your own standards can sometimes be challenging, but “you just have to understand that you are good enough and that you are beautiful.”

She's continued to hit red carpet events and fashion shows across the globe embracing a makeup-free complexion.

Anderson is focused on embracing "life-ing" — the term she prefers to "aging" — and living by her own beauty rules, a move she told Vogue France has resulted in her her being the "happiest that I’ve ever been in my own skin."

In her journal, Anderson said her mother was “right” that she’d enjoy less makeup as she got older.

That doesn’t mean she won’t ever get glam again she says.

"I still love a big makeup look when I feel like it – there lays the empowerment… it's on my terms."

But she’s now aware that "with a lot of makeup and filters… we might lose sight of how we look in person… and not just in our iPhone photographs."

"I prefer a bare face these days — back to basics."
