Pamela Anderson is opening up about being her own glam team, and how deciding to go makeup-free at Paris Fashion Week has been liberating for her.

In a new video for Vogue France — shot as she prepared for the Vivienne Westwood show at Paris Fashion Week — Anderson, 56, revealed that she didn't fly to Paris with the intention of appearing without any makeup.

"I don't know, something just kind of came over me and I was dressing in these beautiful clothes and I thought, 'I don't want to compete with the clothes,'" the Baywatch star said. "I'm not trying to be the prettiest girl in the room. I feel like it's just freedom. It's a release."

"I don't need a stylist. I don't have a stylist," she added. "I don't have a glam team. I'm just kind of doing this, freestyle."

Anderson, who admitted she's now the "happiest that I’ve ever been in my own skin" and that beauty "comes from within," also revealed that she's carried some beauty advice from her mother with her — and it's now starting to make more sense.

"My mom always told me, 'At some point in your life you're not gonna want to wear makeup on your skin.' And she's right," she added.

"You kind of have to challenge beauty sometimes. You know, if we all chase youth, or we're chasing our idea of what fashion magazines and everything, we're only gonna be disappointed or maybe a little bit sad. So I feel like this is it."

Going makeup-free doesn't come without second thoughts, though, as the actress revealed that sometimes she wonders if she's "doing the right thing."

"And I thought, you know, 'This is the time for me to be, again, probably a little rebellious.' But I also feel as a woman and a woman of my age, and a woman in the public eye... it's also your job to be model of everything," Anderson told Vogue France. "Just all sorts of choices. So I am just being me, kind of who I am, in all these great clothes running around Paris. So I am very lucky."

Anderson has previously opened up about her makeup-free journey and embracing her natural beauty, revealing in an interview with Elle that she's strayed away from her “wild and uninhibited" '90s style for a look that's more "freeing and fun."

And she's seen support from plenty of industry peers, including Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis who praised her earlier this month for shaking up beauty standards. The Halloween star, 64, shared a post to Instagram at the top of October, hyping up Anderson's look at the Isabel Marant show on Sept. 28.

“THE NATURAL BEAUTY REVOLUTION HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN! @pamelaanderson in the middle of fashion week with so many pressures and postures,” Curtis captioned an image of Anderson.

“And, this woman showed up and claimed her seat at the table with nothing on her face. I am so impressed and floored by this act of courage and rebellion.”

Later sharing a quote and video screengrab from Anderson's Vogue interview, Curtis later shared to her Instagram on Thursday that "FREEDOM IS BEAUTIFUL!"
