Palm Springs Film Festival Brings Out the Big Stars: See the Glamorous Photos!

At the festival's starry awards ceremony, Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio and Emma Stone were just some of the A-listers walking the red carpet

And they're off!

The A-list hit the red carpet on Thursday night at the Palm Springs International Film Festival awards dinner, presented by IHG Hotels & Resorts, Entertainment Tonight and Oak View Group, at the Palm Springs Convention Center in California. The event was the first in a series of upcoming awards shows that includes this Sunday's Golden Globe Awards and the upcoming Critics Choice Awards and rescheduled Emmy Awards on Jan. 14 and 15, respectively.

Honorees at Thursdays' awards included Barbie's Greta Gerwig and soundtrack stars Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell, plus Maestro's Carey Mulligan and the movie Killers of the Flower Moon.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Killers of the Flower Moon star Leonardo DiCaprio got all dressed up to represent the film, which won the vanguard award.

Kirsten Dunst & Jesse Plemons

Jesse Plemons, who also stars in the film, made it a date with wife Kirsten Dunst.

Lily Gladstone

Killers of the Flower Moon star Lily Gladstone brought the sparkle in her green gown.

Costar Tatanka Means soaked up his moment in the spotlight in his gray tuxedo.

Meryl Streep

Before presenting the international star award to Carey Mulligan, Meryl Streep gave a shoutout to two of the night's honorees, Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell.

"I just want to say to Billie and Finneas that you have delivered the Barbie love bomb. You've saved the movies, last summer. All of our jobs. You've delivered joy to countless generations and genders of people, and you should surf that wave, kids — until you are old and deserve to be jaded like me."

Billie Eilish showcased her signature style on the carpet, accessorizing her black-and-white look with a Playboy bag before accepting the chairman's award alongside her brother, Finneas O'Connell.

Finneas O'Connell

Finneas, meanwhile, went for a double-breasted velvet tuxedo.

Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie walked the carpet in a pink-and-black polka dot mini dress with rosette details from Balmain's spring summer 2024 collection. She accessorized the look with matching peep-toe heels.

America Ferrera

Barbie costar America Ferrera opted for all-black in a form-fitting dress with thigh-high slit and bell sleeves.

Greta Gerwig

Greta Gerwig, who won director of the year for Barbie, had some fun with her fashion, donning a sparkly black dress with exaggerated hips and a high-low hemline.

Taraji P. Henson

Giving it in green, presenter Taraji P. Henson shined in an Alexandre Vauthier dress.

Jeffrey Wright

Jeffrey Wright, winner of the career achievement award, spoke of the importance of representation in film and the Black actors who came before him. He also joked about winning his award "at such a young age, having just started last Tuesday. But I am seriously grateful to be included among the number of distinguished artists who have received this prior to me and also among my fellow honorees tonight, who have you, as you've seen, are just magnificent."

Leslie Uggams

Leslie Uggams presented Jeffrey Wright with his award — and when he began his speech, he admitted she was one of his very first celebrity crushes.

Mark Ruffalo

Poor Things star Mark Ruffalo arrived to present costar Emma Stone with the desert palm achievement award.

Willem Dafoe & Giada Colagrande

There for the same reason, their costar Willem Dafoe, who arrived with wife Giada Colagrande.

Emma Stone

Emma Stone put a spin on her Louis Vuitton menswear-inspired look with a custom silk robe. Accepting her award, she thanked "Marky and Billy for being here tonight" before sharing appreciation for the work she gets to do.

"I have so much gratitude genuinely for this moment," she said. "I'm grateful that I get to keep trying new things and for the opportunity to make choices when it comes to work, because I know how rare and fleeting it can be to choose what you want to do or who you want to work with as an actor. And I am really so thankful for that."

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria had another red carpet win in her sleeveless embroidered gown.

Carey Mulligan

While presenting Carey Mulligan with her award, friend Meryl Streep said, "If you were trying to identify the one essential quality that Carey brings to the wide and wildly varied characters she's played, it really is located in what she withholds from us. I mean, the emotion in her characters is always palpable and full and felt and, but it's often tucked away and maybe disguised or hidden in reserve. I'm thinking not only of her gorgeous work in Maestro, but also in Promising Young Woman and She Said and The Dig and Mudbound and Suffragette. It's that emotion that's tamped down and it's underground. It's like the smaller tremors that we get here in California, not really measurable. Nothing shakes, but you're aware that the earth is roiling below, and when that fall cracks open, she could bring your house down."

Sandra Oh presented former Sideways costar Paul Giamatti with the icon award.

Da'Vine Joy Randolph

Pretty in pink, Da'Vine Joy Randolph won the breakthrough performance award for The Holdovers.
