Jill Davis and Mary Frances Walde were chairwomen for the afternoon, which began with a reception and silent auction in the Ocean Lounge.

After the mix-and-mingle, guests moved to the aptly named Ocean Room — with its sweeping view of the turquoise waves — for lunch and remarks from the luncheon chairwomen and from Gen. Richard Cody (U.S. Army, retired), chairman of the board of the event's beneficiary, Homes For Our Troops.

The organization builds — from the ground up — and then donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives.

Cody introduced Justin and Katie Callahan, recipients of a home built recently in Jupiter Farms. Justin was deployed in Afghanistan when he was seriously injured by an IED and lost his leg.

Their new home, with its wheelchair-friendly amenities, has "made our lives infinitely easier." Justin said.

The afternoon's highlight was a runway fashion show of St. John's spring-summer collection and included a runway appearance by Katie Callahan in a red-and-black ensemble that was later gifted to her.

Paula Butler, Susan Erichsen, and Kathryn Vecellio were co-chairwomen.

More than 100 people attended.
