Paintings, woodworking, jewelry, wearable art and glass sculptures will be on display

SOUTH BEND — KoZmo Events presents the 10th annual For the Love of Art Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 17 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 18 at Century Center, 120 S. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

The art fair features more than 40 artists, ranging from local and regional to a few Southern artists. Works include original paintings, fine woodworking, fine jewelry, wearable art and glass sculptures.

She has studied at The Art Institute of Chicago, Santa Reparata International School of The Arts in Florence, Italy, and obtained her bachelor of fine arts in sculpture from Indiana University in 2018. She also minored in arts history and printmaking.

Ward is an active member of the Indiana Women’s Caucus for the Arts, the National Women’s Caucus for the Arts and Northern Indiana Artists.

The art fair also includes a memorial to artist and gallery owner Scott Hatt, who died Oct. 26, 2021.

Hatt specialized in collage art, moving from prints of hand-colored collage pieces in the 1990s to digital collage and graphic design from 2000 to 2008.

After 2008, he concentrated on works that combined collage with acrylic painting and also created many works that combined collage with box constructions.

He taught digital collage and graphic design from 1998 to 2003 at Indiana University South Bend.

In 2005, Hatt opened the Spurious Fugitive Gallery in downtown South Bend and curated and mounted monthly shows featuring cutting-edge local and national artists until the gallery closed in 2009 because of the financial crisis.

In addition, there will be live music by Jake Micheal, Buddy Pearson, Imphormal and The Sand Rabbits.

Admission is $10 for a two-day pass; free for ages 12 and younger.
