Padma Lakshmi scorches The New Yorker for confusing her with Priyanka Chopra

Padma Lakshmi is not impressed.

The longtime "Top Chef" host, 49, scorched The New Yorker magazine on Instagram Sunday for confusing her with fellow Indian actress Priyanka Chopra, 37.

Lakshmi shared a screenshot from the official New Yorker Instagram account, where the publication tagged a picture of Lakshmi as Chopra for its celebrity cartoon takeover segment. The New Yorker has since been deleted its post.

"Thank you to the illustrious '@nydailynews' for the shoutout," Lakshmi captioned the post, intentionally tagging The New York Daily News instead of the New Yorker.

She continued, "I know to some we all look alike, but (shrug)."

Lakshmi added the hashtags #justindianthings and #desilife, a term used to describe the people, culture and lifestyle of South Asian countries Pakistan, Indian and Bangladesh.

The mix-up received received many puzzled reactions, including one from actress Natalie Portman, who liked the New Yorker's original Instagram photo. She commented on Lakshmi's post, "Oh no."

Chopra has not responded to the blunder yet. USA TODAY reached out to her reps for comment.
