Padma Lakshmi recently went off on "The New Yorker," for mistaking her for Priyanka Chopra. The 49-year-old television personality aired her thoughts via her Instagram page on Sunday and fans took her side. She slammed the magazine for mistaking her for Chopra on social media.
On her Instagram page, Lakshmi shared a photo from The New Yorker's page that was later deleted, showing that they referred to her as Priyanka Chopra and tagged the actresses' account.
Several times, fans and tabloids have mistaken a celebrity for another, but this time around, it did not go down well with Lakshmi.
The television personality was mostly angry at the magazine because, in her opinion, they believe that all Indian women look alike. In her response to them, Lakshmi mentioned that she knows that most Indian women look alike, but that does not mean that they do not have distinctive features to tell them apart. For instance, Lakshmi is a slender and tall woman in her forties, while Chopra, is almost on the bold side, and is not as tall as Lakshmi.
Another distinctive feature about Lakshmi and Chopra is that the former has an oval shape face, while the latter almost has a round face. Both women also have different eye-brows, nose and lips. The only thing that is very alike between them, is the color of their skin.
Lakshmi could not understand why the magazine will make such a mistake, and the problem now is that no one knows if they were really posting about Chopra, or it was Lakshmi all along.
After calling out the magazine for their wrong detail about her and Chopra, the television personality went on to thank the magazine for giving her a shoutout, even though they were not successful at it.
Several celebrities and fans took to the comment section of Padma Lakshmi's post to try to calm her down and make her know that it was an honest mistake on the part of the magazine.
To shake off the anger she was feeling, Lakshmi went on a work-out spree with her little girl, Krishna Thea Lakshmi-Dell.
