'PacMan' Sun Greets Early Risers in Maryland During Eclipse
Skywatchers across the northern hemisphere had the chance to see a partial eclipse of the sun on June 10.
The phenomenon is also called an “annular eclipse,” NASA said, during which the moon “is far enough away from Earth that [it] appears smaller than the sun in the sky.”
Parts of Canada, Greenland and northern Russia could expect to see a “ring of fire” in the sky as the moon blocked the sun.
