Packers PFF grades: Best, worst players from Week 7 vs. Washington

The Green Bay Packers used three touchdown passes from Aaron Rodgers and a disruptive performance from the defense to help beat Washington on Sunday at Lambeau Field.

Rodgers was terrific again, and the Packers’ pass-rush got after Taylor Heinicke.

Based on grades from Pro Football Focus, here are the best and worst performers from the Packers’ Week 7 win over Washington.

Top 5 offense

1. QB Aaron Rodgers, 86.9
2. TE Marcedes Lewis, 85.8
3. WR Davante Adams, 76.1
4. LT Elgton Jenkins, 75.4
5. TE Robert Tonyan, 71.0

Rodgers completed 27 of 31 passes from clean pockets, hit two “big time throws,” was 3-for-4 when throwing beyond 20 yards and scrambled twice for 17 yards.

Lewis caught three passes on three targets, forced a missed tackle and created two first downs.

Adams had an incredible contested catch, and he caught all six passes for 76 yards and a score – good for a perfect passer rating of 158.3 when targeted.

Jenkins gave up only one pressure at left tackle and received the second-highest run-blocking grade among starting offensive linemen.

Tonyan caught all four targets, including two passes over 20 yards.

Top 5 defense

Douglas gave up just one catch for four yards, broke up one pass and delivered two stops over 58 total snaps.

Campbell had a team-high four defensive stops, plus two forced fumbles and an elite run defense grade.

Gary tallied a game-high 10 total pressures, including a game-changing strip sack, over just 32 pass-rushing snaps.

Amos had five tackles without a miss, and he defended a fourth-down pass into the end zone in the second half.

Stokes gave up the long touchdown to Terry McLaurin, but he also caused a turnover on downs with a pass breakup on fourth down while also delivering three tackles and no misses.

Bottom 5 offense

St. Brown had a 13-yard run on a jet sweep, but he wasn’t able to complete the catch on a good throw from Rodgers along the sideline.

Patrick gave up a pressure and received poor grades as both a pass-blocker and run-blocker.

Deguara, who played 11 snaps, continues to get below average grades as a blocker and receiver.

Newman gave up a pressure, and he was the offensive line’s lowest-graded run blocker.

Dillon fumbled twice on just four touches.

Bottom 5 defense

Smith had a pressure and contributed to a stop, but he had a poor performance against the run.

Jean-Charles gave up two catches for 27 yards on just 11 snaps.

Lancaster played 18 snaps but wasn’t good against the run or pass.

Burks had a stop on a scramble, but he also ave up a completion while playing nine snaps.

Black missed a tackle on a screen pass, and he gave up five catches for a team-high 62 yards.

Other notables, special teams

Green Bay Packers guard Rashan Gary (52).

The Packers had Taylor Heinicke under pressure on 19 of 47 dropbacks (40.4 percent), while Aaron Rodgers was under pressure on just nine of 40 dropbacks (22.5 percent). Rodgers took three sacks and was 0-for-4 under pressure.

The Packers kept Chase Young to only two total pressures.

Kenny Clark (seven) and Dean Lowry (three) combined for 10 total pressures, including a sack and quarterback hit.

Chandon Sullivan gave up a passer rating of 34.0 against this coverage. He allowed four catches on six targets for only 23 yards, plus his interception.

Corey Bojorquez had a net punting average of 46.3 on three punts.
