Earlier this month, Ozzy Osbourne revealed that he refused to allow Kanye West to sample a performance of Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” for a new album. A few weeks later, the metal legend is standing by his actions against the rapper, saying, “It’s wrong if you don’t say anything about him.”

Ozzy initially lashed out at Kanye after learning that a sample of his performance of “Iron Man” from the 1983 US Festival was present in the track “Carnival” during a listening party for Kanye’s new collaborative album Vultures 1 with Ty Dolla $ign.

The metal icon revealed that Kanye included it in the track despite being denied permission to use it, writing at the time, “Kanye West asked permission to sample a section of a 1983 live performance of ‘Iron Man’ from the US Festival without vocals & was refused permission because he is an antisemite and has caused untold heartache to many. He went ahead and used the sample anyway at his album listening party last night. I want no association with this man!”

As it turns out, the “Iron Man” sample didn’t make it onto the final recording that hit streaming services shortly thereafter, but Ozzy has no regrets about speaking out against Kanye.

“With the current state of affairs, you don’t need anybody starting people on discrimination of any kind,” Ozzy tells Rolling Stone in a new interview. “It’s wrong. It’s just wrong.”

He continues, “There’s enough fucking aggravation, and he shouldn’t say anything [like what he has]. It’s wrong if you don’t say anything about him. I don’t want any of my work in any shape or form to be associated with anything like that.”

Shortly after Ozzy had expressed his initial frustration with Kanye, his wife and manager Sharon Osbourne went scorched earth on the rhyme-slinger. “We get so many requests for these songs, and when we saw that request, we just said no way,” she told Billboard. “The simple thing is, we don’t want to be associated with a hater. To spread hate the way he does, it shouldn’t be allowed. All the excuses – he’s bipolar or whatever – doesn’t change that. It’s like, fuck you, basically.”

Sharon further told TMZ, “Kanye fucked with the wrong Jew this time,” alluding to her own Jewish heritage on her father’s side.
