Oxygen Renews ‘Injustice With Nancy Grace,’ Picks Up 3 New True Crime Projects
Oxygen has renewed “Injustice With Nancy Grace” for a second season and picked up three new true-crime projects, the cable network announced Wednesday.
Hosted by legal analyst and former HLN anchor Nancy Grace, the first season of “Injustice” ran for eight episodes last summer, exploring stories involving “unclear motives, botched investigations, wrongful accusations, unjust sentencing and suppressed evidence.” Grace will return as host for Season 2.
The show is produced by The Intellectual Property Corporation in conjunction with KT Studios and TAP Inc., with Eli Holzman, Aaron Saidman, Nancy Grace, John Terenzio, Stephanie Lydecker and showrunner Haylee Vance serving as executive producers.
The first of the three new projects is “Exhumed,” a series examining murder cases in which unearthing a victim’s body plays an instrumental role in solving the case. It is produced by Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ Milojo Productions and stems from a development deal the husband-and-wife duo signed at Oxygen last year.
Consuelos, Ripa, and Albert Bianchini will serve as executive producers alongside Wendy Greene and co-EP Christopher Sgueglia.
“As diehard true crime fans, we are thrilled to be partnering with Oxygen on ‘Exhumed,'” Ripa and Consuelos said in a statement. “We cannot wait to dig into these fascinating cases and showcase how exhumations have been crucial in solving crimes and bringing closure to families across America.”
The other two new projects are both specials which will showcase one case apiece.
“The Case Died With Her,” produced by Pulse Films and Buzzfeed News, draws on reporting by former Buzzfeed reporter Jessica Testa and tells the story of Emilie Morris, a woman in her 30s who suffered an untimely death just after bringing charges against Jim Wilder for sexually inappropriate behavior when she was a minor.
Jon Alwen, Marisa Clifford, Dan Baglio, and Cindy Vanegas-Gesuale, Karolina Waclawiak and Charlotte Simms executive produce.
“The Jane Doe Murders,” which hails from MY Entertainment, centers on crime scene investigator Yolanda McClary as she delves into an active case from Polk County, Oregon and tries to help identify the unidentified victim.
Michael Yudin, Joe Townley, Mark Marabella and McClary are executive producers.
