A new owner has taken over the iconic In Between Tavern, and it's opening this month

A longtime Downtown favorite restaurant is reopening next week under new ownership.

The In Between Tavern, located on 307 Sycamore St. across from Great American Ball Park, will open for lunch service on July 11, thanks to Ignite Entertainment.

The restaurant group bringing the tavern back is also behind other restaurants around the city, including the Bling Pig and O'Malley's in the Alley, the View at Shires' Garden and Che, among others.

The In Between Tavern was open from 1969 to 2016, before it was converted into the Corner Bistro, as it operated until 2021.

The 4,500-square-foot space will have an indoor space and an expanded patio and will offer a space for private indoor events. Owner Juan Imeroni is also adding a retractable garage door to combine the indoor and outdoor spaces together.

In Between Tavern's menu will be Cincinnati-themed, with an emphasis on the city's love for sports and all things pig-related, including pork and sausages sourced from local butchers Avril Bleh, Wassler's and Redden's, available as "Cincinnati-Style Dogs" and "Ballpark-Style Dogs." The menu also has sandwiches, salads, wraps and appetizers.

"Bringing back to life an iconic destination like In Between is a dream," Imeroni said in a release. "It's everything I love about this city, in an amazing location, and we'll serve the home team and visitors just like we did here previously for over 50 years. We've made some upgrades and done some fine-tuning, but otherwise we wanted to preserve all the Cincinnati sports history that was here before, add to it, and make it a place for people to enjoy what's on the walls and tables around them just as much as they enjoy the food and drinks."

Once open, In Between Tavern will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, starting at 11 a.m. daily.
