Josh Brolin is about to re-enter the void: The time-warping western Outer Range will drop its second season on Thursday, May 16, but you can catch your first glimpse in the newly released trailer Prime Video released Monday.

Season 2 is comprised of seven episodes which will all be released at once. In addition, star and executive producer Brolin makes his directorial debut with the season’s penultimate episode, and Charles Murray (Luke Cage, Sons of Anarchy) joins as a new EP and showrunner.

Outer Range centers on Royal Abbott (Brolin), a rancher fighting for his land and family, who discovers an unfathomable phenomenon at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness in the form of a dark void. “The mystery surrounding the enigmatic void on the west pasture of the Abbott family ranch deepens in Season 2, as Royal and his wife Cecelia (Lili Taylor) struggle to keep their family together in the aftermath of their granddaughter’s sudden disappearance,” reads its official description. “The stakes have never been higher for the Abbotts who now face threats on multiple fronts, propelling its characters deeper into the void with profound and unforeseen circumstances that could shake the very foundations of time itself.”

Joining Brolin for Season 2 are Imogen Poots (The Father), Lili Taylor (American Crime), Tamara Podemski (Reservation Dogs), Lewis Pullman (Lessons in Chemistry), Tom Pelphrey (Ozark), Noah Reid (Schitt’s Creek), Shaun Sipos (Reacher), Isabel Arraiza (The Little Things), Olive Abercrombie (The Haunting of Hill House) and Will Patton (Yellowstone).

Building on the neo-Western’s huge central mystery, the sophomore season of Outer Range promises “payoffs, heightened time-traveling twists and liberated character journeys,” all of which are teased in the newly released trailer (click PLAY above).

In the clip, the hole’s secret is out, as the Abbott family struggles to connect the dots (and timeline) of what’s happening on their land. But while they grill Autumn about WTF is going on, we see Deputy Sheriff Joy Hawk possibly stuck in the past, while neighbor baddie Wayne Tillerson promises to seek revenge and “break Royal Abbott, Old Testament style.” Meanwhile, Autumn is scribbling all over the walls (“I wish you could see what I see”), while someone takes a dive into the mysterious void. Consider our interest piqued!
