The chapter begins with Aqua talking to himself. In doing so, he has a conversation with Gorou about their revenge plan against Hikaru Kamiki. He also remembers how he wanted to stab Ai’s killer, Hikaru Kamiki, who had orchestrated her murder, and make him regret being born.

Gorou responds to Aqua, telling him that he believed that he had lost everything in life, but the idea of revenge made his life meaningful. However, ensuring that Sarina was free from her illness and was reborn as Ruby Hoshino, Gorou found peace, because that was all he ever wanted. Gorou gives Aqua the choice to either kill Hikaru or go out and enjoy his youth with the girl he loves. However, Gorou calls Aqua a “playboy” and adds that as long Aqua’s eyes stay black, he can’t lay hands on Sarina, i.e., the current Ruby.

Gorou then accuses Aqua of liking Kana Arima, the “genius child actor.” Although Aqua questions why he would like Kana, he thinks that he has typical teenage romantic feelings as Aqua Hoshio. This leads Aqua to think how Kana is hardworking despite being arrogant. Moreover, he thinks that she is delicate even though she has a sharp tongue and a strong, straight gaze.

Aqua affirms that he likes all of these traits. Gorou reminds Aqua that he is free to step down from the role of Gorou Amamiya and that he finally has the chance to love someone. Following this, Aqua wakes up from his sleep.

Right after, Kana wonders what would happen if she dates Aqua. She reminisces about how she hated Aqua, although she found him cute. However, he did not fade away from her memory and they went to the same high school. Kana thinks that Aqua put in effort and stood by her side. She also admits that talking to him alone was enjoyable. Besides, Kana was happy to see her childhood rival, whom she had been chasing all this time. She was also in love with him. After she thinks about the past, Kana daydreams about Aqua.

While thinking about Aqua, she then asks him in her mind, “Even if it’s not with the same intensity, could you look at me with a little bit of kindness in your eyes?” As she continues to daydream, Kana sends a text message to Aqua, asking him if he is free on Saturday.
