Apple’s CODA made history for becoming the first streaming film to win best picture, while Troy Kotsur won best supporting actor and writer-director Siân Heder nabbed the golden statue for best adapted screenplay.
The Power of the Dog led the pack with 12 nominations and took home one golden statue for best director (Jane Campion). Dune had 10 nods and earned the most Oscars with six wins in the crafts categories, while West Side Story and Belfast both got seven noms and each won one award (best supporting actress for Arianna DeBose and best original screenplay for Kenneth Branagh, respectively). King Richard was recognized in six categories and star Will Smith nabbed the best actor award.
Netflix earned 27 Academy Awards nominations (it landed 35 in 2021), marking its third consecutive year as the most-nominated studio, while Disney earned 23 honors.

The Long Goodbye
The film depicts a South Asian family in suburban London — in the distant future, or perhaps chillingly in the present — as they prepare for a celebration. But what begins as a lighthearted look at a close-knit family gathering quickly turns sinister as news reports begin depicting scenes of violence and an all-white militia, aided by the police force, knocks on the family’s door.
