Oscar winner Yuh-Jung Youn reacts to Brad Pitt introducing her

After winning Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Minari, Yuh-Jung Youn hit the Oscars virtual press room where she was asked not one, not two, but three questions about Brad Pitt introducing her.

When a journalist asked her how Pitt smells she seemed befuddled, saying, “I didn’t smell him, I’m not a dog.”

She said that when Pitt, who’s a producer on Minari, announced her as the winner, she “blacked out for a couple seconds” then went on to add with a laugh, “I’m still not myself so don’t ask me too many questions, please!”

YUH-JUNG YOUN: Mr Brad Pitt, finally. [CHUCKLES]

[LAUGHTER]

Nice to meet you. Were you-- where were you while we were filming in person?

Well, I've been watching him. He is movie star for me. So I couldn't believe he was leading to me where he announced my name. Then-- so then I-- maybe I just blacked out couple of-- couple of second also. Or should I say, where am I or something like that? But I'm so-- I kept asking my friends, am I saying right? Do they-- Do they understand what I'm trying to say.

Something like this. I'm still not myself. So don't ask me too many questions, [CHUCKLES] please. [LAUGHS] I saw him on the stage, and then he called my name. I can tell he practiced a lot. He didn't mispronounce my name. Then at that moment, then when I got there, I just lost what was I supposed to say. Where should I be begin or something? So well.

I didn't smell him. I'm not dog. [LAUGHTER] I didn't smell him. No. [LAUGHS]
