Anonymous country star Orville Peck has teamed up with country icon Willie Nelson for a new cover of “Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond of Each Other.” Stream the new track below.
The new collaboration with Nelson isn’t the first time Peck has taken on “Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond of Each Other.” Originally released by Ned Sublette in 1981 and famously covered by Nelson in 2006, Peck previously covered the tune for SiriusXM and has performed it live.
Peck’s version of “Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond of Each Other” arrives on the heels of his signing to Warner Records. His 2019 full-length debut, Pony, released via Sub Pop, and his 2022 major label debut, Bronco, dropped via Columbia.
In addition to new tunes and new contracts, Peck also announced a slew of 2024 tour dates. Dubbed “The Stampede Tour,” Peck is set to hit the road on May 28th, visiting Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, and more before wrapping up in October. Pick up tickets here.
