Big news, Clone Club: AMC has announced a June 23 release date for the new series Orphan Black: Echoes on AMC, AMC+ and BBC America.

Described as a “completely unique copy of the original,” Orphan Black: Echoes “takes a deep dive into the exploration of the scientific manipulation of human existence. It follows a group of women as they weave their way into each other’s lives and embark on a thrilling journey, unravelling the mystery of their identity and uncovering a wrenching story of love and betrayal.”

Additional cast members include Keeley Hawes (It’s A Sin), Amanda Fix (High School), Avan Jogia (Now Apocalypse), Rya Kihlstedt (A Teacher) and James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry).

Series creator Anna Fishko serves as showrunner, executive-producing alongside Ritter, David Fortier, Ivan Schneeberg, Nick Nantell, Kerry Appleyard, Katie O’Connell Marsh and original Orphan Black creator John Fawcett.

The original Orphan Black, which aired for five seasons (2013–2017) starred Tatiana Maslany in multiple roles. Maslany won an Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series in 2016, receiving two additional nominations throughout the show’s run. She and her co-stars reprised their roles for a 2019 audio series titled Orphan Black: The Next Chapter.

Though it follows an entirely different set of characters, this new series is confirmed to take place in the same world as the original Orphan Black.
