Krysten Ritter has no memory of who she is after waking up from a mysterious procedure in the first teaser trailer for Orphan Black: Echoes, which takes place in the world of the original BBC America cult fave.

The preview, which was unveiled at New York Comic Con on Thursday, features Ritter — who also serves as an executive producer — as Lucy, a woman with an unimaginable origin story, trying to find her place in the world. The 10-episode first season is set in the near future, which looks awfully futuristic in the above trailer, and explores the scientific manipulation of human existence. The show “follows a group of women as they weave their way into each other’s lives and embark on a thrilling journey, unravelling the mystery of their identity and uncovering a wrenching story of love and betrayal,” per the official synopsis.

Additionally, it was announced at NYCC that Rya Kihlstedt (Superman & Lois), James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry) and Reed Diamond (Franklin & Bash, Dollhouse) have joined the cast, which also includes Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard), Amanda Fix (High School) and Avan Jogia (Now Apocalypse, Twisted). Kihlstedt and Hiroyuki Liao will play the series-regular roles of Eleanor, a brilliant, tough-as-nails neuroscientist, and Darros, an extremely powerful self-made billionaire with a troubled past, respectively. Diamond will recur as Tom, the former military, no-nonsense Head of Corporate Security for the Darros Foundation.

Premiering in 2024 on AMC, AMC+ and BBC America, Orphan Black: Echoes comes from creator/showrunner Anna Fishko (The Society, Fear the Walking Dead). She will exec-produce alongside original series co-creator/director John Fawcett and EPs David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg (of Boat Rocker, the company behind the OB franchise). Additional EPs include Boat Rocker’s Katie O’Connell Marsh, Nick Nantell and Kerry Appleyard.

The original Orphan Black, which starred Emmy winner Tatiana Maslany as a multitude of clones, ran for five seasons on BBC America from 2013-2017.
