This treasured breakfast destination bid farewell after nearly six years in business, closing its doors for good.

Rumbles of Flapjack Johnny’s closing its Ormond Beach restaurant began to trickle in on social media this week, following customers' unsuccessful attempts to dine at the eatery during its usual 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. business hours.

Staff from Flapjack Johnny’s Orlando location confirmed the closure over the phone Thursday.

The Ormond restaurant, located at 165 N. Yonge St., opened in March 2018, following the opening of Port Orange’s Flapjack Johnny’s on South Williamson Boulevard — a location that has also closed since its 2017 opening.

Flapjack Johnny’s was known for its scratch kitchen and homemade Southern breakfast staples, boasting “comfort foods that warm your hearts and fill your stomachs,” according to the eatery’s website.

The restaurant’s menu catered to every sweet, savory and bacon-layered preference, offering a range of omelets — like the Feta-layered Greek omelet; pancakes — like the banana foster, blueberry or peanut butter; bowls — like the Cajun shrimp bowl; and “all time favorites” — including the spinach, tomato and Canadian bacon-layered Johnny’s Benedict.
