New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave has gone viral after seemingly attempting to use his status as a NFL star to avoid an arrest during a traffic stop.

On Monday (Oct. 23), Olave was arrested in Kenner, La., after he was pulled over by police for allegedly committing a traffic violation. According to authorities, Olave was speeding through a “mixed business/residential area” in his Lamborghini Urus prior to being pulled over.

The 23-year-old is said to have been “observed travelling at the high rate of speed, recklessly maneuvering between lanes and around other drivers on the roadway” while driving at 70 mph, well above the 35 mph speed limit.

In a clip from the traffic stop that surfaced on social media, Olave can be seen attempting to explain himself to the officer, informing him that he plays for the New Orleans Saints, which holds their practices at a facility in Kenner.

“My bad dawg… I play for the Saints, man,” the breakout playmaker can be heard telling the arresting officer, who expresses his lack of concern for the nature of Olave’s occupation, as he sarcastically replies “and?” before continuing to book and take him into custody.

Olave was taken to the Kenner jail following the arrest, but was released later that same night at approximately 11:30 p.m. local time. The Saints organization has confirmed that they are aware of Olave’s arrest, but declined to give further comment.
