“Orlando is an extraordinary actor, dad and philanthropist, and we’re proud to have him join the Peppa roster just in time to celebrate the brand’s 20th anniversary next year,” he continued in a statement. “With this captivating moment in Peppa entertainment, along with the many other projects we have in the works across consumer products, partnerships, location-based-entertainment and more, we’re providing fans across the globe with endless ways to celebrate Peppa throughout the year.”

The news, which was announced by Hasbro and Entertainment One Ltd. on Monday during the annual Toy Fair in New York, comes less than a week after Bloom’s partner and pop star Katy Perry was revealed as another guest voice actor for the upcoming special, which is slated to release sometime in spring 2024. Perry will voice dressmaker Ms. Leopard.

Like Perry, Bloom’s casting and voice recording were completed before the SAG-AFTRA strike, according to the producers.

The special will encourage young viewers and their families to rally around the “oinktastic” wedding celebration alongside their favorite characters, who have just one day to prepare for the big event. Peppa Pig Wedding Party Special is among a slate of offerings tied to next year’s celebration of the British series’ two decades on air.

The preschool animated television series follows the cheeky piggy Peppa, her family and community and has aired across nine seasons in over 180 territories as of 2023.
