Percy Jackson and The Olympians is coming to Disney+ this week, continuing the franchise first adapted for the screen in 2010.

More than a decade ago, Harry Potter director Chris Columbus brought Rick Riordan's fantasy novels to life with help from some of Hollywood's biggest names. Pierce Brosnan, Uma Thurman and Rosario Dawson starred in Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief as major figures, gods and goddesses from Greek mythology. They were joined on screen by then up-and-comers Logan Lerman and Alexandra Daddario, who went on to establish their own big careers.

As the Percy Jackson revival series starts streaming on Dec. 20, see what the original cast members have been up to since The Lightning Thief premiered in 2010.

Logan Lerman appeared in The Lightning Thief and its 2013 sequel, Sea of Monsters, as the titular demigod, a role taken over by Walker Scobell in the franchise’s latest adaptation. Lerman’s leading role as Percy Jackson marked a breakthrough in his career, though he’d previously featured in films like The Patriot and Hoot and starred as Bobby McCallister in the short-lived WB series Jack & Bobby.

In 2012, Lerman continued as a leading man in the teen drama The Perks of Being a Wallflower alongside Emma Watson and Ezra Miller. His following projects cast him with more A-list costars, like Jennifer Connelly, Greg Kinnear and Lily Collins in Stuck in Love, Brad Pitt in Fury and Al Pacino in their Amazon Prime series Hunters.

In his personal world, the actor is gearing up to get married: he announced his engagement to ceramics artist Analuisa Corrigan in November 2023.

Beyond small cameos in TV shows and minor appearances on the big screen, Alexandra Daddario booked her first major gig as Annabeth Chase, the demigod daughter of the goddess Athena. She continued building a following with recurring roles on White Collar and Parenthood. Like Lerman, the up-and-coming star reprised her role as Annabeth in the 2013 sequel Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.

Daddario’s career picked up with a cast spot on HBO’s True Detective and as the lead in 2015’s San Andreas alongside Dwayne Johnson. The actress caught her biggest breakthrough yet in the 2017 movie reboot of Baywatch with costars Zac Efron, David Hasselhoff and Johnson, once again.

Most recently, the Percy Jackson alumna starred in season 1 of Mike White’s satire anthology White Lotus, earning an Emmy nomination and widespread acclaim for her performance.

Daddario — who married producer Andrew Form in June 2022 — currently plays Rowan Fielding in AMC’s supernatural series Mayfair Witches.

Pierce Brosnan made his name in Hollywood long before playing Percy’s teacher Mr. Brunner, who is quickly revealed to be an undercover centaur. Though he had a number of prominent roles beforehand, Brosnan is best known for his four-film portrayal of James Bond. He made his 007 debut in 1995’s GoldenEye and finished the spy stint with 2002’s Die Another Day.

In the years between Bond and Percy Jackson, the actor carried his on-screen presence in Laws of Attraction and After the Sunset in 2004. Brosnan flaunted his vocal talents singing ABBA songs in the 2008 movie adaptation of Mamma Mia! with Meryl Streep. In 2018, Brosnan returned for the sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

The Golden Globe nominee boasts screen time with some of the biggest names in Hollywood. During the 2010s alone, he costarred with the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Emma Thompson, Salma Hayek, Liam Neeson, Owen Wilson, Jeff Bridges and more. In recent years, Brosnan has featured in the DC Comics movie Black Adam and the 2023 thriller Fast Charlie.

Three years after The Lightning Thief premiered, Brosnan’s only daughter Charlotte died of ovarian cancer at age 41. The actor is also dad to four sons, Christopher, 51, Sean, 40, Dylan, 26, and Paris, 22; he shares the latter two with his wife of 22 years, Keely Shaye Brosnan. The Hollywood veteran is also a grandfather of four.

Kevin McKidd broke into the entertainment industry as Tommy in the 1996 classic Trainspotting, nearly a decade-and-a-half before he played Percy Jackson’s father, Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. The Scottish actor largely continued acting in British films, TV series and theatrical productions through the late aughts. From 2005 to 2007, McKidd starred as Lucius Vorenus in the historical drama series Rome, which aired on both HBO and BBC.

In 2008, the actor scored his biggest gig yet: playing Dr. Owen Hunt on Grey’s Anatomy. McKidd joined during the show’s fifth season, and he still remains a main cast member with the show’s 20th installment ahead. He’s also stepped behind the camera to direct several episodes of the medical drama.

Beyond Grey’s Anatomy and his cameos on Shonda Rhimes’ sister series Station 19, McKidd has voiced Lord MacGuffin in Disney Pixar’s Brave and joined his former Grey’s costar Katherine Heigl in 2015’s Home Sweet Hell.

Off set, McKidd’s personal life looks notably different from his Percy Jackson days. In 2017, he split from his first wife, Jane Parker, with whom he shares a son and daughter. The British star remarried in 2018 and welcomed two kids with then-wife Arielle Goldrath before they separated in 2022. McKidd is currently dating fellow Shondaland star Danielle Savre.
