Original Films Grabs Sci-Fi Action Pitch From Joe Gazzam In Pre-Emptive Buy
EXCLUSIVE: Original Films closed a deal this morning for an untitled, sci-fi action movie pitch from writer Joe Gazzam for what was said to be mid-to-high six figures. The project, which will go through Sony, will be produced by Ori Marmur who will shepard the development along at Original. Although plot details are being kept under wraps, the company is eyeing the project as a possible tentpole that would appeal to a global audience.
This marks yet another project between the writer and Original as it acquired his Shadow Run earlier this year and he also penned the remake of Cliffhanger for Original. Shadow Run is an action thriller in the vein of the Bourne movies that will be produced by Original and Hernany Perla.
Gazzam, who is also writing State Secret for Studio Canal, is repped by Paradigm, Circle of Confusion and attorney Patti Felker.
