Oregon's Bootleg Fire Grows to Over 281,000 Acres

The Bootleg Fire, burning in southern Oregon, grew to more than 281,000 acres on July 17, with officials reporting progress in containment along southern portions of the blaze.

The fire, which began close to Klamath Falls has grown into the nation’s largest in less than two weeks. Over 2,100 personnel have been brought in to tackle the fire, which officials say may not be fully contained until November.
