The student captioned he video, “Today I was blessed with the opportunity to sit down and have a conversation with @Oprah Winfrey. After the assembly, my brother @zcs_5 and I caught her car and had another conversation with her. We hope to see her again soon and thank her for making this possible. #oprah #morehousecollege @morehouse1867”
Oprah was on campus talking to students and announcing her new $13 million donation. She had previously donated $12 million to Morehouse. The school is a private, historically black men’s college.
At the event, she was honored by the students who handed her roses. She shared video captioned, “Spent a day marinating in black excellence with these gorgeous, promising, young men at @Morehouse . They honored me with roses, a song, and a portrait for a scholarship fund I set up 30 years ago. Can’t wait to see what they do with their future.”
She reportedly said to the crowd, “I was really surprised to learn that it’s been 30 years since I made that $12 million donation to Morehouse, so today I would like to add $13 million to that.”
