Between promoting “The Color Purple,” making the awards rounds and her new TV special, Oprah Winfrey has been outside more than usual lately. On Thursday, she was recognized with the Vanguard Award at the 35th annual GLAAD Media Awards. Before she returns to staying at home with her books, she was a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!

In a fun conversation, she and Kimmel touched on her recent exit from Weight Watchers, her 70th birthday, her weight loss journey and her upcoming ABC special, “An Oprah Special: Shame, Blame and the Weight Loss Revolution.” The most interesting part of the interview came when Jimmy asked Oprah about some of the crazy rumors that have followed her for years.

Is she leaving her dogs $30 million in her will?

No. Sadly, most of her dogs have already passed away and even if that weren’t the case, they wouldn’t be inheriting a fortune.

Was she planning to be buried under the oak tree at her Montecito estate?

Yes, she was. But the tree fell during one of the massive storms that’s hit California in recent years, so that’s no longer the plan.

Was she in the running to buy the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers when they were for sale?

Yes, she was in a partnership with entertainment executive David Geffen. However, the team was eventually sold to businessman Steve Ballmer for $2 billion.

Did she give Stevie Wonder a Rolls Royce as a thank you for singing “Happy Birthday” at her 50th birthday celebration?

No, she gave him a Maybach because he said he wanted it. In a wild turn of events, Stevie sent her a video of himself driving the car.

Does she keep a whole Octopus on hand at all times?

Yes. Apparently, her longtime partner Stedman Graham loves octopus and has it for breakfast with okra nearly every morning. As Jimmy said, “he loves things that start with O.” In case you’re wondering, the media mogul is not a fan of the unorthodox choice and is grossed out by seeing it in the fridge.

Perhaps the most controversial moment of the interview came when “The Princess and the Frog” actress confessed that she actually likes Daylight Savings Time. That’s right, Oprah is a fan of the nonsensical back and forth.

“It allows me to know that spring is really here,” she said. “I was really excited to know we’re gonna get an extra hour, we can stay out longer.”

As a longtime fan of Oprah, we’ve supported her through everything, but Daylight Savings Time is a step too far. Seriously, there is no need to continue with this time altering disruption to a good night’s sleep. Rethink your stance, ma’am.
