Trailblazers Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres are both visionaries. Could their shared zodiac sign explain why?

Countless iconic celebs were born under this sign — Harry Styles, Jennifer Aniston, Justin Timberlake, Michael Jordan. But no one quite captures the eccentric humanitarian nature unique to the sign quite like quintessential-Aquarian TV queens Ellen Degeneres and Oprah Winfrey.
Aquarius the humanitarian: Oprah & Ellen
Aquarians are best known for their charitable nature, and are considered the humanitarians of the zodiac. They tend to spend their lives following a path led by their huge hearts and their unique ability to see the world as something they can help to better.
Whether it’s donating millions to charity organizations, starting foundations and scholarships for disenfranchised communities, or just sharing a funny heartwarming clip for those in need of a pick-me-up, Oprah and Ellen are on it. In fact, both women were awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Obama for their charitable actions.
They have both made careers for themselves out of offering compassionate shoulders to lean on, and in a world saturated by superficial media, they give a platform to important causes big and small — something that’s very Aquarius.
Aquarius the visionary: Oprah & Ellen
Aquarians are know to be visionaries, with new and innovative points of view that can change the path of society as we know it. So it’s no surprise that Oprah and Ellen share the sign with not only each other, but with historic figures including Abe Lincoln, Thomas Edison, Charles Darwin, Galileo and Susan B. Anthony. Aquarians, clearly, are known to be rather rebellious, and unafraid of forging new paths.
This is, of course, how Oprah made history in 1986 as the first African-American person to host a syndicated talk show, which later became the highest-rated daytime talk show of all time. Her career has only skyrocketed further since the final episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show aired in 2011, with Forbes naming her as the first female African-American billionaire, allowing her to use her platform as a media mogul to lift up so many.
Clearly Degeneres has mastered this same visionary Aquarian nature. She made history by coming out as a lesbian on national TV in 1997, making her the first openly-gay woman main character in a major sitcom. The Aquarius in her fueled the confidence it took to break that barrier, forever paving the way for other LGBTQ folks in show business.
Aquarius the friend: Oprah & Ellen
Aquarius is the sign of friendship, and Ellen and Oprah both have a special knack for seeming like a friend to millions. Humor and wit come naturally to Aquarians, and these two use theirs to bring people together through laughter and love.
Bottom line: Aquarius is the unique and eccentric humanitarian heart of the zodiac, and Oprah and Ellen are as Aquarius as they come. So let’s all try to be a little more like them, and spread a laugh or lend a helping hand this Aquarius season.
