Christopher Nolan’s epic biopic Oppenheimer finally has a streaming release date on Peacock.

The NBCUniversal streaming service will debut Nolan’s film about the father of the atom bomb on Feb. 16, just a few days before voting begins on the Academy Awards.

Oppenheimer was produced and distributed by Universal Pictures, another division within NBCUniversal. The film will debut on Peacock some seven months after its theatrical debut, and after receiving a PVOD window as well, marking a return to something closer to historic norms for big-budget films.

Also of note: Peacock has licensed many of Nolan’s other films, which will debut on the streaming service Feb. 1. That includes his Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, Dunkirk and Memento. The addition of those high-profile films suggests that Warner Bros. is indeed being aggressive about licensing some of its biggest titles to competitors. It is no clear how long the other Nolan films will be available for.

Oppenheimer opened in theaters in July, and has since grossed nearly $1 billion at the box office. The success of Oppenheimer is attributable in part to its presence in premium Imax theaters (Imax says some people traveled hours just to watch the film in a true Imax location), and the “Barbenheimer” phenomenon, where people went to see both Barbie and Oppenheimer, lifting both films in the process.

Most home theaters don’t have the screen or sound of an Imax theater, but Peacock will make the film much more accessible to people, who can take in its three hour run time at their leisure.
