Based on the four-novel series from author Ilaria Tuti, its first season adapts the first book and follows profiler Teresa Battaglia as she attempts to track a serial vigilante who kills in defense of helpless children. Battaglia’s focus is split, however, as she must deal with an Alzheimer’s diagnosis. “Flowers Over the Inferno” is produced by Publispei, one of Italy’s oldest indie labels, which produced long-running series such as “Un Medico in Famiglia” and “I Cesaroni.”

When season one debuted on RAI 1 in Italy, it recorded a 25.49% audience share and maintained a 24.96% share during its initial run. Season two, based on the second book in the series, “Sleeping Nymph,” is currently in post-production and will premiere this fall.

In a release, Béatrice Nouh, head of sales at Onza Distribution, said: ” We are very proud to partner with these prestigious broadcasters, and we believe the announcement of the second season is helping to add more interest to the series throughout the world.”

Throughout this year, Onza will shop “Flowers Over the Inferno” at major global markets. Other titles the company is highlighting this year include “Heartless,” a thriller that has been Prime Video’s second most-watched series in Spain since debuting on April 19; “Cacao,” a TVI telenovela recently acquired by Mediaset España; “Golden Swan,” a Czech period drama produced by Nova; and “Allende the Thousand Days,” a recent acquisition that was picked up by OCS in France.
