Are you eligible for a second COVID-19 vaccine?: Ontario expands doses for people in Delta variant hotspots
The Ontario government is accelerated the administration of second doses of COVID-19 vaccines in Delta hotspots on Monday, June 14.
Beginning at 8:00 a.m., individuals who live in the hot spots in Halton, Peel, Porcupine, Toronto, Waterloo, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph and York public health units and received their first dose of an mRNA vaccine on or before May 9, will be eligible to book their second dose appointment through the provincial booking system (for Peel and Toronto), through public health units and through participating pharmacies.
While there are no postal code restrictions to book an accelerated second dose on Monday, earlier on Thursday the City of Toronto indicated it will be refocusing its first and second dose vaccine efforts on 18 Delta hotspots within the city, including mobile vaccination units.
"As has always been the case, public health units have the ability to focus vaccine administration in certain communities within their region based on local context," provincial officials confirmed.

"Ontario’s vaccine rollout continues to pick up speed with over one million doses being administered each week, ensuring Ontario can safely and gradually lift public health measures," a statement from Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, reads.
"With an increased supply of vaccines, we continue to make it easier than ever to receive a vaccine to help protect those most at risk against COVID-19 variants, stop the spread and protect our hospital capacity."
As of June 9 at 8:00 p.m., over 10.6 million vaccine doses have been administered in Ontario.
