It took less than 10 minutes to set up, and it holds my heavy winter coats with ease

Living in a studio apartment has taught me a lot of space-saving hacks.

I moved into a small, one-closet apartment last July. At first, my storage space seemed just right — a dresser, under-bed drawers, and a half-sized closet were enough to hold my assortment of sundresses and sandals. As the weather got colder, a new issue presented itself: coat storage.

With a closet filled to the brim with clothes and accessories, I ran to Amazon for a quick and easy storage solution, and I stumbled upon the best-selling Dseap Wall-Mounted Coat Rack. The small but mighty unit has been such a helpful space-saver since it houses all of my coats, some handbags, scarves, and other items that don’t have a place to call home in my home. And you can snag it on sale now.

The unit is made from sturdy stainless steel and aluminum. It has five three-pronged hooks that can each hold multiple items at once. According to the brand, the hooks have a weight capacity of 11 pounds, which seems accurate to me since I store my heavy wool coats, thick puffers, and handbags on them.

You can see my unit in use in the image below, holding four coats and three purses next to my front door. I’ll admit: It’s typically much more crowded, but I dropped some of my coats at the dry cleaners during this brief reprieve from frigid temperatures in New York City. It’s usually invisible under said assortment of outerwear — at least it’s getting the job done!

The best part? The unit came with all of the equipment needed to install it myself: wall anchors, screws, and screw covers. There were two different kinds of wall anchors in the package, so I looked up the best option for drywall and got to work.

The not-so-great part is that the package didn’t come with written instructions, but I just popped back to the Amazon listing to read what to do. After reading the online guide, marking my wall for the desired placement, and watching several YouTube tutorials to hype myself up, I installed the hooks in about five minutes.

The rack is pleasantly sturdy, as it hasn’t caused me any issues through the fall and winter. Of course, the hooks aren’t just reserved for coats and bags — tons of five-star reviewers shared that they use the unit to hang towels, backpacks, and even excess electronics cords.

You can snap up a one- or two-pack of Dseap Wall-Mounted Coat Rack in seven finishes, including antique copper (my personal choice), black, and chrome. Snag it while it’s on sale now.
