“Only Murders in the Building” Trio Heads to Hollywood to Solve Their Starriest Mystery Yet in Season 4 Teaser

Season 4 of the Hulu dramedy, which is set to premiere on Hulu Aug. 27, will center around Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch) and how she was murdered

The gang is back and their antics are taking them west in season 4 of Only Murders in the Building!

On Tuesday, May 14,  at the ABC and Disney Upfronts event, held at New York City's Javits Center, Hulu released a teaser for the highly anticipated fourth installment of the hit murder mystery series, as well as the new season's premiere date.

Season 4, set to premiere on Aug. 27, will center around the murder of Charles-Hayden Savage (Steve Martin)'s stunt double, Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch).

As Charles, Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez) and Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) search for clues to solve Sazz's murder and who killed her, the teaser reveals that the trio's new adventures lands them in Hollywood when a studio offers to take their podcast to the big screen.

After searching for a "hot fresh dead body" to report on, the unlikely friends enter Charles' apartment to find Sazz dead and point of entry in the window from which she was shot.

"Somewhere lays a sniper's nest," Oliver quips into his phone before shrugging to a disbelieving Charles, "You know this is happening, we might as well just start."

From red carpets to house parties in the Hollywood Hills, the trio find themselves in a lucrative position. Dressed to the nines, they toast to their seemingly bright futures with a glass of wine. The teaser also gives fans a glimpse of what they can expect this season.

Armed special forces storm the Arconia dressed in full tactile gear, Mabel hunts for finger prints in Charles' apartment, Oliver feels the sting of a backhand and a baby pig runs wild down the halls of their New York City building.

While exploring the best of what Los Angeles has to offer, the three drive through Beverly Hills and see the sights through their town car's sunroof with California-style burgers and drinks in hand.

"Brazos!" Charles smiles while waving to pedestrians and pointing to himself.

"They don't recognize you," Oliver points out to which Mabel agrees, "I don't think they know who you are."

The scene then shifts to Charles, Oliver and Mabel sitting in an important meeting with Hollywood executives who want to buy their "life rights" to turn their podcast into a movie.

Unwilling to let their likeness go without a price, Charles hilariously pushes his body across a long wooden table to deliver the group's number.

"It's just a four," an executive says to which Charles adds, "Four, four hundred? Four thousand? Four million?"

"Or five?" Oliver quips as Mabel shakes her head.

In addition to Martin, Gomez, Short and Lynch season 4 will see the return of Meryl Streep while Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy and Kumail Nanjiani will play characters with big roles in the investigation of Sazz’s death.

Only Murders in the Building's fourth season premieres Aug. 27 on Hulu, where seasons 1-3 can be streamed in full.
