On Monday, April 8, Jonathan Majors will learn whether or not he’ll have to serve jail time after being found guilty of third degree reckless assault and harassment stemming from his domestic dispute case involving ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.

“Jonathan feels disappointed by the outcome of the motion, yet he upholds respect for the process. He continues to draw strength from his friends, fans, family, and dogs, harnessing his art and creativity. As he eagerly anticipates closing this chapter, he looks forward to redirecting his time and energy fully toward his family and his art.”

Per a sworn affidavit and domestic incident report obtained by Insider on Monday, Majors told Chinatown precinct police that a “drunk and hysterical” Jabbari was the one who allegedly attacked him in an altercation that spilled onto a street corner back in late March. He alleged that she “scratched, slapped, and grabbed at his face, causing pain and bleeding” and that the next morning his face was allegedly “stuck to the pillow because of the blood from the cut” that Jabbari gave him by digging her thumbnail into him. (The claim that Majors was not the aggressor and was “provably a victim” has been maintained by his lawyer Priya Chadhry since the initial report of his arrest was made public.)—Shanelle Genai

Prosecutors in the case argued that the Creed III star ‘engaged in a cool and manipulative pattern’ of psychological abuse leading up the incident,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. They claimed that the relationship between Majors and his accuser and now ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari started off smooth back in 2021 but allegedly took a turn for the worse when Majors’ “true self emerged,” which essentially looked like alleged controlling, manipulation, “withoholding affection” and threatening suicide as a way to get her to conform to what he wanted her to do....

Naturally, Majors’ legal team led by Priya Chaudhry denied that her client has ever displayed a pattern of abuse, describing him instead as a “a father, a poet, a devoted, practicing Christian and an actor.” She further argued that Jabbari made false allegations to “hurt him at the height of his career,” as a result of being hurt over him ending their relationship.—Shanelle Genai

Marvel star Jonathan Majors’ assault trial has reached its end with a verdict from a six-person New York jury. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor was found guilty of one count of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment, and he was found not guilty of aggravated harassment and intentional assault in the third degree.

The jury reportedly deliberated for four hours over two days, beginning on Friday. Major’s sentencing is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 6, and he faces up to one year in jail.

Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg also released a statement on the verdict:

“At the Manhattan D.A.’s Office, we are committed to centering survivors in all of our work. The evidence presented throughout this trial illustrated a cycle of psychological and emotional abuse, and escalating patterns of coercion far too common across the many intimate partner violence cases we see each and every day,” Bragg said. “Today, a jury determined that pattern of abuse and coercion culminated with Mr. Majors assaulting and harassing his girlfriend. We thank the jury for its service and the survivor for bravely telling her story despite having to relive her trauma on the stand.”
