The Ones: ZayBang’s “Can’t Lose”

With artists releasing songs at a fast and furious pace it’s difficult for the average hip-hop head to keep track of it all—no matter how tapped in they are. That’s why we created The Ones, a daily post to highlight the song you need to hear curated by the Levels team. We sort through all the new songs—across all the platforms and subgenres—so you don’t have to. Thank us later.

ZayBang - “Can’t Lose”

San Francisco’s ZayBang hurts feelings. On “Can’t Lose,” a single from ZayBang’s new mixtape, The Streets Blame Me, the 24-year-old rapper doubles down on his distaste for his opposition over bouncy Bay Area production made to blast out of a parked car until the neighbors complain. With disgust, he insults his enemies with epithets like “clown,” “goofball,” and “fuckboy,” and he critiques their misguided priorities by saying, “You the type to buy some kicks when mama rent due.” If I lived in San Francisco, I would stay on ZayBang’s good side to avoid being checked on a local street hit.
