The Ones: Big Jade’s “I A’int F#ckin”

With artists releasing songs at a fast and furious pace, it’s difficult for the average hip-hop head to keep track of it all—no matter how tapped in they are. That’s why we created The Ones, a daily post to highlight the song you need to hear.

Big Jade - “I A’int F#ckin”

Beaumont, Texas loudmouth Big Jade has the best music videos. They’re a much needed break from the endless stream of fifteen dudes stuffed into an Airbnb, pointing guns at the shaky cameraman, and doing donuts in rented cars outside. In her last couple of videos, Jade has delivered her sharp, rapidfire flow while braiding hair—Jade mercilessly parting her daughter’s hair on a stoop in the “Phone Jumpin” clip brings back childhood memories of watching my mom and sister frustratedly doing the same. In her video for her new single “I Ain’t F#ckin,” Jade lays down edges with the precision of a surgeon as she spits about the men who won’t leave her alone: “He wanna date me, say he wanna save me, he callin’ me baby, I wish he would stop,” she raps on a vocal sample that sounds similar to Nelly’s “Air Force Ones.” Whether she has the rat tail comb in her hand or not, Big Jade is a must watch.
