The recently released live-action adaptation of One Piece that’s streaming on Netflix features one of the first villains who locks horns with Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, Klahadore. But who’s Klahadore? And who are the Black Cat Pirates? Here’s what you need to know.

Who’s Klahadore in One Piece Netflix?

Klahadore, whose real name is Kuro, is Kaya’s butler.

Klahadore is nothing more than the fake identity assumed by the Black Cat Pirates captain Kuro to get hired as Kaya’s butler and take over the young heiress’s money. Known as Kuro of the Hundred Plans, he is a cunning and ruthless man who doesn’t stop in front of anything to reach his goals. He also possesses superspeed, which allows him to quickly attack his opponents with his cat’s paw-shaped steel claws.

Who portrays the live-action Klahadore?

Alexander Maniatis portrays the live-action version of Klahadore.

Previously known as Adolph de Beer, Maniatis has also starred in Warrior, The Power, The Young Pope, and more. His role as Klahadore/Kuro is arguably the most important one so far.

Who are the Black Cat Pirates?

The Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece features the following Black Cat Pirates members:

  • Kuro

  • Buchi (Albert Pretorious)

  • Sham (Bianca Oosthuizen)

As fans who have read the Syrup Village Arc or seen the animation adaptation, the Black Cat Pirates features many more members that have been cut from the live-action series. Most importantly, Jango is absent from the One Piece series. As the first mate of the Black Cat Pirates, Jango was part of Kuro’s plan to hypnotize Kaya so she would leave her fortune and estate to her butler, Klahadore. The joint effort of Luffy and Usopp prevented Kuro from accomplishing his plan.

One Piece is currently streaming on Netflix.
