One Life Ends and Another Begins on ‘Empire’ Season Premiere

After waiting all summer, we finally find out who died from the high-rise catfight between Anika and Rhonda on the season premiere of Empire. Rhonda lost the battle on the balcony and fell to her death, landing on a limo, right next to Lucious, in the opening moments of the show.

Rhonda may be gone, but it looks like she won’t be forgotten, as Andre had hallucinations of her later in the show as he starts to unravel over her death.

While Empire lost a character, it gained a new one. Anika gave birth prematurely to Hakeem’s baby, Bella. Lucious, however, was not pleased, as he was promised that the baby would be a boy.

Bad boy Empire artist Shyne, played by Xzibit, lived up to his reputation by beating Hakeem’s audio engineer to get to produce Hakeem’s next single.

Empire airs Wednesday nights at 8:00 p.m./7:00 p.m. CT on FOX.
