One of John Stamos’ Exes Is Staying Silent in Regards to His Memoir’s Controversial Allegations About Her

There’s always more to the story than is written on the page when it comes to celebrity memoirs. Some memoirs, like Jada Pinkett Smith’s Worthy, earn the respect of their respective exes, even when they are called out in said memoir. Other celebrity tell-alls, however, don’t always go down so well with former flames, as evidenced by the backlash experienced by Justin Timberlake in the wake of Britney Spears’ tell-all The Woman in Me. Now, as John Stamos has started promoting his memoir, If You Would Have Told Me, one ex has reportedly opted to not say a word regarding his accusations against her.

In excerpts of Stamos’ new memoir, he accuses his ex-wife and fellow former Full House star Rebecca Romijn, of treating him poorly during their marriage. The two got engaged in 1997 and said “I do,” in 1998. In August 2004, Stamos filed for divorce.

“My first marriage was shattering to me. I was shattered for way too long, too,” Stamos told People while promoting his book. “I mean, a year, okay, good. But it went on [for] years and years.” Stamos went on to explain that at the time, he viewed his wife as “the Devil,” saying that “I just hated her. I couldn’t believe how much I hated her, and it ruined my life.” Ultimately, Stamos realized his own shortcomings that played a part in his relationship’s demise.

Still, Stamos apparently did not mince words when talking about how Romijn allegedly made mistakes during their six-year marriage. He said he felt “emasculated” by her and that he felt that she “outgrew” him. “She implies, sometimes subtly and sometimes openly, that I’m not smart enough for her and her entourage of a**-kissers,” he wrote in the memoir.

He also insinuated that she had cheated on him during their time together. “Betrayal starts as a sinking feeling in your stomach. [It] grows into a suspicion that clouds your every thought, and by the time you find out the truth, it’s uniquely horrible at first but also expected, like you’ve been waiting for something bad to happen. There’s nothing more to say.”

Apparently, Romijn feels the same in terms of there being nothing else to say, as she is reportedly refusing to talk about the book in any capacity. “She doesn’t want to give John any more oxygen or attention and help him sell more books,” a source explained to Page Six.

The source also said Romijn doesn’t want to add any fuel to the fire in order to protect her 14-year-old twin daughters, Charlie and Dolly, whom she shares with husband Jerry O’Connell, whom she married in 2007. “They are teens and can read articles online,” the source explained.

While Stamos’ memoir continues to make waves, Romijn’s powerful silence stands as a testament to her commitment to protect her family and maintain her privacy. Her decision underscores that sometimes, the most potent response is no response at all.
